Testicide!

TESTICIDE! is the Citywide Championship of Quizzy.  I once held this event annually, but now due to popular demand, I do spring and fall versions. I increased the frequency for the simple reason that TESTICIDE! is an easily-contrived way for me to make more money (and for the far-less-important reason that people seem to enjoy it).

Here’s how it works:

1)  I hold 5 or 6 weeks of TESTICIDE! qualifying rounds at the normal Quizzy locations and times.

2)  You attend religiously, laugh at all my jokes (especially the bad ones), try to score as high as possible at Quizzy, and lead me to believe you are sexually attracted to me (especially if you are not).

3)  You keep the SAME TEAM NAME throughout the qualification period, and I keep a log of your scores.  At the end of qualification, each team’s top 2 scores are added, and the top 3 sums from each bar qualify automatically. Thus, the more you go, the better chance you have – and you can get in (or be eliminated) in the last week.

4) Wild Card Teams -

In addition to them thar teams what I done spoke of, 3 wild card teams will qualify by compiling one of the top 3 summed scores amongst the remaining teams, regardless of the bar they attend.  I started doing this at the second TESTICIDE! to eliminate the possibility of worthy teams being eliminated  for coming to a bar where there is a very high level of competition.

Oh, and for the second time, I will be inviting one team for simply having the BEST TEAM NAME in any Quizzy bar.  How does one determine the best team name?  One does not.  I do.   My preferences tend to lean a touch toward the bizarre, depraved, and irreverent – but anything clever is considered.   If the best name is that of a team already qualified by the traditional route, I will choose a second best.  If that team is already in, it’s over – and no team will qualify on name alone.

Yee-haw.  Seriously.

As I write this, Testicide VIII is planned for November 2010 at Slabtown.  Check the “Quizzy News Flash” page to see any updates beyond that.

I love you deeply,

Roy
